Spend-based emissions calculator

Scope 3 category 1 from what you paid: spend converted to 2022 US dollars × the supply-chain factor of the closest industry, from the U.S. EPA's Supply Chain GHG Emission Factors v1.3. Use it to screen purchases where you have no quantities or supplier data.

The factors are U.S. economy averages, so for purchases elsewhere they are an approximation. Say so when you report, and replace your largest items with supplier data over time. See the guide to spend-based factors.
